Sculpture: Hand-built Ceramics

| My approach to hand building clay is a deep meditative journey where I have a continous dialoque of listening and feeling what wants to be created into form. Each piece of sculptue is fired, glazed and Raku Fired. I love the adreniline rush and focus focus and movement it takes to remove a hot piece of sculpture out of the kiln and place it in a bucket of Natures elements using, dried leaves, sawdust, newspaper, covering the blazing fire, as it goes into the final round..I wait patiently as it cools off, I then open the bucket rinse of the black soot and there lies before me a treasure. What I like about this process of RAKU is that you have to be open and unattached to the outcome. A good practice in life..... |
